You should find the paths under the Paths menu. If you just installed it then it still needs to be activated in the Assets menu or when creating a new map.
You need to resize your image and then save it as a JPEG with a moderate amount of compression. You can use tools like mspaint if you're on windows and don't have anything else available.

A set of three pencil sketch styled textures; two water and one ground.
